Printed, woven and handwoven are not synonyms

A traditional-looking pattern does not establish how it was made. Use the product specification for construction details and ask if the wording is unclear. A design can be attractive regardless of process, but comparison requires accurate labels. Do not treat a collection name or a room photograph as evidence of handweaving.

Product specifications are most useful when read together. Fibre, backing, thickness, dimensions and care instructions describe different parts of the same object. Avoid treating one appealing word as a substitute for the full information. Ask the supplier to clarify any point that affects your floor, cleaning equipment or intended use before ordering.
